Raised Right
Politically I would describe myself as pretty laid back. I am not one to publicly discuss my political views in depth but I am pretty conservative in my views. I believe that I am this way because I was raised in the South by a family that has middle class values and work ethic. The influence in which political views have on our lives is significant in voting (it is politics) but also in things that we consume. There is also a stereotype associated with any political party, which we will not go into. People have values and beliefs that they seek in political leaders. Whenever you find politicians with the same general values as you have, they find themselves another vote.

I am the exact same way. I really don't like talking about politics and honestly have no interests in them either. I took am laid back and just want everyone to treat others how they would want to be treated. And I agree that if a politician can reach someone with the same beliefs and values that they will get another vote. Great post
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your post, Miles. Politics are complicated, which is probably why many people, myself included, don't really enjoy openly discussing them. Politics are personal, and we don't like to step on anyone's toes or have our own treaded on either.
ReplyDeleteMiles, I really like what you had to say when finding a politician who we feel share the same value guarantees a vote.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the being laid back part. I'm not too big on discussing politics either. I also agree with what you said about voting for a politician you connect with but I can't help but feel like they know how to appeal to certain groups just to get the vote.
